Micro-CT scans can be stacked in layers and converted into a 3D model for analysis. Previous work done at Cornell has successfully reconstructed the CT images into an Abaqus model. This tutorial will demonstrate how to import the Abaqus model into Ansys Workbench. The equivalent stiffness will be calculated to validate the model. The CT scans are provided by Professor Hernandez from Cornell University.
Special Thanks to Sean Harvey from Ansys for his assistance in creating this 3D model.
You may use the Ansys Student version 2021R1 or later to solve this problem. You may also use any other commercial or academic license. Older versions of the Ansys Student product will not work as the mesh count exceeds the problem size limitations.
