In this lesson, we will learn how to build a simple solid model of a heat sink using Ansys Discovery.

What is a heat sink?

A heat sink is:

• A metallic component used to remove heat from a body or system to maintain an optimum temperature​
• Commonly found in computer processors and other parts that generate excess heat

Once we understand its characteristics, we can outline a plan for creating the heat sink model. With a plan in place, we can begin creating the model.
