Modeling Preloaded Bolted Joints — Lesson 3

Bolted connections may become a point of failure, so proper analysis is important. On the other hand, detailed modeling of bolts can be computationally expensive, so striking a balance is necessary.

In this lesson, we discuss the needs for modeling bolts and the balance between modeling needs and computational expense. This lesson also introduces evaluation methods for bolted joints.
