Preloaded Bolted Joint Analysis

Bolted connections are part of mechanical assemblies and are designed to hold the parts together. Designing bolted connections involves understanding the nature of the joint and picking the bolts appropriately. This requires the engineers to understand the mechanics of bolts, different nomenclature standards of bolted fasteners, and various available evaluation techniques. In this Ansys Innovation Course on “Preloaded Bolted Joint Analysis”, we introduce these concepts and educate students on how simulations can be leveraged in designing bolted connections. Upon completion, the students are expected to be familiar with design requirements and the nomenclature of bolted connections.
