Simulating the Creep Behavior of an Intervertebral Disc — Lesson 5

In this lesson, we will simulate the creep deformation of an intervertebral disc (IVD). IVD is the smallest segment of the spine and is composed of soft tissues. Many experimental observations suggest considering the soft tissue as a biphasic model. Coupled pore-pressure-thermoelements can simulate the change in compressibility due to fluid flow. In this simulation, we will use command snippet in Ansys Mechanical to define the pore-pressure-thermoelements which are used to model the creep behavior of the IVD.
