Natural Convection Between Parallel Plates — Lesson 4

In the previous lesson, we looked at the natural convection heat transfer characteristics of flat plates. For heat transfer analysis of real-world applications such as stacked memory sticks, like the ones shown in the figure below, printed circuit boards inside electronics components, or radiators using large parallel fins, these systems can be approximated as multiple flat plates parallel to each other creating flow channels.

The natural convection behavior between such parallel plates is the focus of this lesson.
