What is Material Performance? — Lesson 1

The first place many engineers and designers start when selecting the best material for an application is how that material will perform while the product is in use. Whether we are talking about the foam in the cushion of an office chair

or the blade of a wind turbine,

the material needs to perform its intended function. The first lesson in this course is focused on defining material performance and exploring some requirements to consider during product design.
