Tutorial - Solution Setup in Ansys Fluent - Lesson 7

Once a CFD problem is defined and set up with proper initial and boundary conditions, it is important to specify the solver settings to obtain accurate results. In this lesson, we will present a short demo using an example CFD problem of cross-flow through a finned tube heat exchanger to demonstrate how to set up the solver and show iterative schemes using various options available in the Solution tab of Ansys Fluent. We will learn how to select the suitable pressure-velocity coupling scheme and spatial discretization methods in the Solution group to solve the problem. We will also learn how to specify solution controls by using under-relaxation and how to create report definitions to monitor convergence of the solution. Finally, we will learn how to initialize and run the calculation and quickly skim over post-processing by creating contours and analyzing the result.
