Heat Transfer Modeling in Ansys Fluent

Heat transfer is essential in many aspects of our daily lives, from cooking and heating our homes to designing efficient machinery and transportation systems. It plays a crucial role in fields such as engineering, physics, chemistry, and materials science, making it a fundamental concept in modern science and technology. Modeling heat transfer is important for predicting and optimizing the performance of these various systems and processes. In this six-lesson course, we will start with getting a glimpse into the world of heat transfer and modeling its three major modes — i.e., conduction, convection, and radiation — using Fluent. We will discuss in detail regarding various aspects of setting up Fluent for performing heat transfer simulations such as defining thermal boundary conditions, modeling thermal conduction in walls, setting up natural convection, understanding radiation, and much more. The course will end with a hands-on demonstration tutorial, taking us through the process of modeling heat transfer in Fluent and analyzing the results for obtaining meaningful insight into the physics of heat transfer.
