Correctly Interpreting Harmonic Results - Lesson 2

A time-history based analysis can be computationally expensive to study a structure under vibrating loads. Harmonic analysis is an alternative way to simulate the structure’s response to the forced vibrations. Unlike transient dynamic analysis, the harmonic analysis solves the structure’s dynamics in the frequency domain instead of the time domain. To understand an important behavior like resonance, where excessive motion, stress, noise, and vibrations occur at a certain frequency, harmonic analysis can be very useful. In this lesson, we will explore how to interpret harmonic results in a meaningful way using Ansys Mechanical.
