Geometry Preparation Using Ansys SpaceClaim — Lesson 1

The monocoque is an integral part of the vehicle and consists of a shell body that uses the external skin to support both tensile and compressive loads. Drivers’ safety is most important in racing cars, so the monocoque should be able to withstand extreme loads without failing. For analyzing composite monocoques in Composite PrepPost, the first step is to generate a shell body in surface format from a Formula SAE car solid model required for the composite layup.
