The Finite-Dimensional and Matrix-Vector Weak Forms - Lesson 2

The discussion continues on Hyperbolic PDEs in vector unknowns in 3D. The statements were made for strong and weak forms in the previous lesson. In this lesson, the finite-dimensional weak form is written and then the matrix-vector equations are discussed.

The video continues from the previous lesson and starts with the element integral for the finite-dimensional weak form. A consistent mass matrix is found from the element integral. The assembly is done for all the elements using the same approach as done earlier and the global equation for the elastodynamics problem is derived. Initial conditions are stated for the problem.
