Excitation methods are required for the simulation of any design. This lesson teaches excitation port assignment in HFSS. We will cover two widely used port types in this lesson — Lumped Port and Wave Port. You will learn the definition of both ports, the conditions for port assignment and the difference between both port types. This lesson also covers port assignments in two different solution types — Driven Modal and Driven Terminal. It provides insight about the integration line for both port types in driven modal solution type.
